The 12th Real Estate Seminar was held at Pihlaka Farm in Peetri on 13 & 14 September, bringing together a broad spectrum of property enthusiasts, from small investors to leading industry executives. Everaus Kinnisvara is delighted to have been one of the organisers of the event for the third year running, contributing to its success.
Day 1: Podcast recording and tales of innovation
The first day of the seminar kicked off with a live recording of the ‘Kinnisvarajutud’ (‘Real Estate Tales’) podcast. Hosts Algis Liblik and Siim Semiskar had as their guest real estate investor Janar Saviir. They discussed flipping and property development, and shared practical tips and the lessons they have learned over the years.
The day continued with Kalle Aron, the Head of Innovation at Scandium Kinnisvara, sharing some engaging stories about his personal investments in Spain and revealing his company’s future plans in Estonia. He offered a fresh perspective, underscoring the importance of boldness and risk-taking in property investment.
Day 2: In-depth presentations and discussions
Saturday started with Tõnu Toompark, a trainer and consultant from Kinnisvarakool OÜ, presenting an overview of the property market. This included the current outlook as well as the opportunities and threats that investors may face in the near future.
Next to take to the stage was Baltic Horizon Fund’s Tarmo Karotam, who spoke about the fund’s biggest projects and the challenges in the field, sharing with the audience some food for thought and important lessons. He was followed by Arko Kurtmann, the Head of Corporate Banking at Coop Pank, who gave banks’ take on the property market and presented forecasts.
After the lunch break, Everaus Kinnisvara founder and CEO Janar Muttik gave an inspiring talk about his experience of finding five million euros for investment in just two weeks. He also spoke about his company’s success story and future plans.
Panels and practical advice
The more practical part of the day focused on property sales and accommodation services. Kaisa Ülejõe gave the participants some valuable tips on how to maximise their success in providing Airbnb services. In addition, Uus Maa Pro board members Martin Vendla and Mikk Männamets and Arco Vara broker Joshua Viinalass shared practical advice on selling property on a quiet market in a panel moderated by Algis Liblik.
One of the highlights of the seminar was the presentation given by Miko Niinemäe, who candidly shared his experiences as manager of Arco Vara: he gave the audience an honest and practical insight into the challenges of property management, highlighting both his successes and the difficult moments he has faced.
The seminar came to an end with a panel on investing abroad. Real estate entrepreneur Gerdi Arst gave her take on the Spanish market, while investor and entrepreneur Priit Viirelaid talked about his experiences in Thailand and Sanders Skorik outlined the quirks of the Dubai property market. The panel was moderated by Janar Muttik, who put some interesting and very useful questions to the participants.
