From Bankruptcy to a Public Company – Janar Muttik on a Topic Few Dare to Discuss

At the recently held Investment Festival, Janar Muttik—founder and CEO of Everaus Kinnisvara, entrepreneur, and real estate investor—took the stage to speak about a topic many shy away from: failure in business and going bankrupt. With honesty and openness, Muttik shared his personal story and highlighted the key factors that help someone climb back up after hitting rock bottom.

When Muttik began his studies at the University of Tartu in 1999, he was eager to start a business alongside school. However, instead of jumping straight into entrepreneurship, he first spent three months working in construction. That short experience made it clear to him that both his colleagues and supervisors thought in a very different way than he did. It was also the first and last time he worked as a paid employee. During his university years, Muttik came to a clear realization: he was meant to build his own business.
